Eyes of Nepal by Frédéric Séguin

Frédéric Séguin is a photojournalist born and based in Montreal. International Business graduate from HEC Montreal and co-founder of the organization Shoot to Help.

I was in Nepal as a photojournalist before the terrible earthquakes of April and May 2015 and I was one boulder short of being one more of the victims. I witnessed the destruction and understood the fear as I was in the same situation as the Nepalese. What impressed me the most was not the tragedy but rather the strength and resilience of the people.

Even in the worst situations, smiles answered my camera and even as a Westerner, I’ve been met with hospitality and kindness from those who had lost everything. This series of pictures is meant to remind of how strong people are in the hardest situations. There is always hope.
