The Last Season, 2015 by Elsa Guillet

Elsa Guillet (born in 1992, Montreux, CH) graduated from the school of photography of Vevey (CEPV) in 2012 and from the University of Art and Design (ECAL) in 2016. During her studies, she worked as an assistant at the Studio Astre (Paris), and for many photographers in Switzerland. In 2016, she exhibited her work in Amsterdam, Paris, Dusseldorf and Rio de Janeiro with ECAL. Since July 2016 she is working as a freelance photographer.

The portrait of an experience made during my last four summers. I worked as a waitress in an alpine restaurant, where I met some French seasonal workers, my colleagues. They seemed to be masters of their lives. A claimed freedom, but a rhythm of life that let me saw a form of leak and loneliness. In this work I weave a link between the place and the characters, a striking contrast between day and night, nature and faces. This work is based on a need to keep track, linked to my fear of forgetting this experience I had with them.
