Naturalia/Artificialia by Salvatore Pirina

Salvatore Pirina is a photographer from Milan.

This work was born in 2013 along with an artistic duo of friends named MelancholieMitMonstern (they make great collage artworks). We always wanted to cooperate creating something together, andsince we use different medias to express ourselves, we found a solution in video-projecting images on bodies.

We were inspired by Wunderkammer concept as a place to show and collect mysterious and unusual things, in this case “creatures”. So we set up a black room where the model used to stand receiving a new skin by light projection thus becoming something other than just human.
